Our Mission
The McPherson FRC partners with families to create opportunities for learning, advocacy, social connections, well-being, and community leadership so that individuals have the resources to realize their strengths and determine and shape their own futures.
The McPherson FRC serves the children and families in the McPherson neighborhood by providing a safe and trusting place that promotes and supports social connections, family wellness, parent engagement and adult education opportunities.
Resources
> Volunteer Income Tax Preparation (VITA)
VITA tax sites provide free income tax preparation assistance to individuals and families with a household income of approximately $53,000 a year or less.
> Medi-Cal
The FRC provides Medi-Cal application support and covered services access.
> Volunteering and Internships
The goal of Napa Valley Parent University is to provide parents with the tools and knowledge necessary to become more involved in their children’s education, at school and in the community. All of our classes are offered bilingually, in English and Spanish, in the morning and evening.
> Citizenship Legal Services
Citizenship Legal Services helps legal permanent residents become U.S. Citizens at a low cost. We provide free citizenship classes and tutoring.
> Napa Valley Parent University
The goal of Napa Valley Parent University is to provide parents with the tools and knowledge necessary to become more involved in their children’s education, at school and in the community. All of our classes are offered bilingually, in English and Spanish, in the morning and evening. Classes are free and childcare is provided for all classes.
> Application Support: Housing and Unemployment
Access to unemployment benefits and affordable housing helps McPherson families improve their financial status and lower their monthly financial stress.
